Hush by Onirique Scents explores how packaging can evoke emotion - specifically calmness, through thoughtful design elements like form, surface graphics, and sensory interaction. I noticed many candle packages don’t include a way to sample the scent, so I designed ventilation holes at the top of the box to allow customers to experience the fragrance before purchase. The packaging is more than just a container, it can be repurposed into a “Do Not Disturb” door sign, further reinforcing the idea of rest and tranquillity. This idea of reuse is something I’d like to continue exploring in future projects. A cohesive calming experience is achieved through a carefully curated colour palette, gentle patterns, considered typefaces, and symbolic graphic elements, all designed to cradle the user in a moment of stillness.
